They did have a son named William A. R. Gillan, but he was born in 1859 and would have been 53 when Jessie Ann Grant was married in 1912.

However, the initials A. R. allowed me to track down the birth record for this man and it whow his parents to have been William Gellan and Isabella Ramsay. His name was William Alexander Ramsay Gellan and he was born 10 March 1859.597. Therefore, is is confirmed that this family are not the parents of Lewis Gillan.
