A funeral service for Glenn Everett Duck of La Villa Grande Care Center will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Martin Mortuary chapel with the Rev. Roger Ferguson officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Mr. Duck died Monday of natural causes at La Villa Grande Care Center. He was 97.
He was a retired telegraph operator for the railroad and had lived in Grand Junction since 1949.
He was born May 23, 1892, to John J. and Rosabell Ray Duck in Sterling, Kan. He spent his childhood in Avard, Okla., where he attended Union Valley High School.
He married Nannie A. Smith on March 4, 1912, in Alva, Okla. She survives.
Mr. Duck was a member of Clifton Christian Church. He enjoyed oil painting, genealogy and studying history. He played several musical instruments.
Other survivors include two daughters-in-law, Arvis Duck of Grand Junction, and Marie Duck of Mooreland, Okla.; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Four children and five brothers are deceased.
