We can eliminate Howell Hathcock of Coffee County, TN as William's father. His will on Family Search says he has only two sons, Howel F J Hathcock and John H or N Hathcock. he has one daughter, Queen Vashie. His wife's name is Mary. His will is dated 1840.

John Hathcock had several children in Bedord County, TN in the early 1800s: Seaborn, Fearn, Alfred, Wiley Jackson and William Sanford. They moved to Bibb County, Alabama

Reviewed Grantee/Grantor index from 1810-1840 Bedford County on GSC Assoicates. No mention of any Heathcoat/Haithcoat except for the Trust Deed (T.D.) dated 1 Jan 1840 between Wm Heathcoat and Peter Lee regarding debt owed on account as of Dec 1838.

FS Will book index, started looking at H volume 8. Went through Vol 12 which had a date of 1866. Book 13 had a date range of 1909-1930. What happened to 1867-1909?+

have not looked at all tax lists prior to 1858 but they are on FS. not found in 1851 but found in 1852 and 1853. Need to look at 1854-1858
