WILLIAM V. BARBOUR5210William Van Barbour, 80, formerly of Old Homestead Rd., Berea Community, died Sunday, August 25, 1991, following a period of declining health.
Bom February 27, 1911 in Brunswick, GA, he was a son of the late Walter Vance Barbour and Mae Goodbread Frank. He had made his home in Greenville most of his life.
Mr. Barbour was retired owner and operator of Town and Country Laundry and Cleaners. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Berea, the Bill Julian Sunday School Class and the Berea Friendship Group.
He was a charter member of the Berea Lions Club and Palmetto Cove, Palmetto State Unit of WBCCII. He formerly served as president of the S. C. Unit.
His wife, Grace Drummond Barbour, died April 12, 1983.
Surviving are three daughters and two sons-in-law, Graceanne Barbour of Vienna, VA, Nancy B. and Dr. Robert N. DeAngelis of Burke, VA and Frances B. and Frank C. Martin of Greenville; two sons and a daughter-in-law, William H. and Shirley F. Barbour of Mauldin and Joel V. Barbour of Greenville; 11 grandchildren and 2 great-grand children.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 11:00 A.M. at The Mackey Mortuary by Dr. Douglas N. Baker and Dr. W. Horace Benjamin. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Park.
The family is at the home of a son & daughter-in-law, William and Shirley Barbour, 107 Wellington "Dr., Mauldin but will receive friends at the mortuary Tuesday from 7:00 until 8:30 P.M.
