Maureen R. Commander, 88, passed away Thursday, Sept. 30, 2004, in a local hospital.
She was a longtime resident of Chattanooga and a member of Oakwood Baptist Church. She was a member of Murray Hills Garden Club.
She is survived by her husband of 64 years, M.C. Commander Sr., Chattanooga; sons, M.C. Commander Jr. and Tom Commander, both of Chattanooga; daughters, Peggy Whipple, Raleigh, N.C., and Connie Braswell, Hixson; grandchildren, Ceci Goodner, Travis Keedy, Trey Commander, Heather Bateman, Chad Commander, Kate Commander and Matt Commander; and great-grandson, Parker Goodner.
Graveside services will be 4 p.m. Friday, Oct. 1, 2004, at Lakewood Memory Gardens, East, with Brother Wallace McGill officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to Oakwood Baptist Church, 4501 Bonny Oaks Drive, Chattanooga, TN 37416.
