SYLVESTER S. GRIFFIN4954PRINCETON, Ind. Sylvester S. Griffin, 85, of Princeton, died at 2:40 p.m. Thursday at Gibson General Hospital.
Surviving are his wife, Mary E.; six sons, Thomas Sylvester, of Princeton, Eugene and Howard, both of Henderson, Ky., Clifford, of Coldwater, Mich., Russell, of Bonita, La., and Jim, of Farmington, N. M. ; four daughters, Mrs. Mary Frances Marshall of Fort Branch, Ind., Mrs. Dorothy Yates of Bullhead City, Ariz., and Mrs. Lola Critchfield and Mrs. Gen Brines, both of Princeton; three step-daughters, Mrs. Donna Tuley of Princeton, Mrs. Hazel Hill of Kansas City, Kan., and Mrs. Beulah Yurczakonis of San Pedro, Calif.; two step-sons, Eldon Baugh and Paul Baugh, both of San Pedro; 43 grandchildren, 48 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Colvin and Son Mortuary, with burial in Patoka Cemetery.
Friends may call after 3:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Flossie H. Griffin4955 Mrs. Flossie Hayes Griffin, 54, Kings Station, died at the Gibson General hospital Saturday morning following an illness of a few days.
Surviving are the husband, Sylvester "Bill" Griffin, daughters, Mrs. C. P. Marshall, Ft. Branch; Mrs. Raymond Yates, Anaheim, Calif.; Mrs. D. T. Critchfield and Mrs. Robert Briner both of Princeton; sons, Eugene of Pennsylvania; Clifford W. of Princeton; Russell of Mansfield, Ohio; Jimmy of the U. S. Navy at Oreat Lakes, Ill., and Howard of Princeton; sisters, Mrs. Lillie Voyles of Danville, Ill., and two brothers, Perry E. Hayes of Ft. Branch and Everett Hayes of Flushing, Mich. Thirteen grand children ana several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
Funeral services will be held at the Church of God here on Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock with Rev. John Magness officiating. Burial will be in the IOOF cemetery at Owensville.
Mrs. Griffin was born in Christman, Ill., on July 29, 1897 and had resided in the Kings Station vicinity for the past 17 years. She was formerly a resident of Patoka and Owensville also.
She was a member of the Church of God here and the Kings Station Home Economics club.
Mrs. Griffin will remain at the Wright and Kendall funeral home where friends may call after 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon.
