Robert Rolando4838 MURPHYSBORO — Robert “Bob”Sylvester Rolando, 70, passed away at 5:07 p.m. Saturday, July 13, 2013, in Memorial Hospital of Carbondale.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 16, in Sunset Memorial Park in Du Quoin with the Rev. Gary Darnell officiating. Family and friends are asked to go directly to the cemetery.
Robert was born Jan. 27, 1943, in Du Quoin to Sylvester and Virginia (Edison) Rolando.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam conflict.
Mr.Rolando was owner and operator of Rolando Electric in Murphysboro for 34 years and a member of Illinois Electric Contractors Association.
Bob was a man of many trades. He loved to go fishing, and he loved his four dogs, Boots, Buddy, Oscar and Lucy, who were his best friends.
Survivors include his wife, Rose Evelyn Pleasant Rolando of Murphysboro; two daughters, Barbara “Bobbie” Green of Mount Vernon and Rhonda Pierce of Pinckneyville; eight grandchildren; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Barbara and Johnnie Morris of Grenada, Miss., and Rebecca and Dennis Hottes of Du Quoin; and two brothers and sisters-in-law, George and Linda Rolando of Pharr, Texas, and Gene and Diane Rolando of Du Quoin.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and one grandson.
