ODESSA - Nina Rose Burger, 86, long time resident of Odessa, Texas before moving to Ballinger in 2008, passed away Thursday, December 10, 2015 at her residence.
She was born January 10, 1929 in Brown County, Texas to Devoe and Kate (Martin) Manley. After high school, Nina attended North Texas State College. She graduated with a Bachelor's of Science Degree and began her life long career in education. She was a teacher and coach for 25 years, spending most of that time at Nimitz Jr. High School in Odessa. Nina was a member of Crescent Park Baptist Church in Odessa.
Nina was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Ray Burger; her parents; and her sister, Madalyn Stewart.
She is survived by her daughter, Charla Nord and husband John of Ballinger; her son, Jerry Burger of Wilson, TX; grandchildren, Heidi Winkler, Trent Burger, Charlie Burger, Russell Dill, Cali Trowbridge, Caleb Dill, Jonathon Nord, Amiee Wright; numerous great-grandchildren; and many, many former students that she taught throughout her career.

Charles Burger4787Services for Charles - "Charlie" Burger, 62, 2711 Century Ave., are scheduled for 4:30 p.m. Thursday at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Robert L. Bratcher officiating.
Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Burger died Tuesday at Medical Center Hospital. He was born May 7, 1927, in Runnels County. He married Nina Manley Sept. 10, 1949, in Brownwood.
Mr. Burger had lived in Odessa for 41 years. He worked for the TU Electric transmission department. He was a U.S. Army World War n veteran. He was a member of Crescent Park Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife; Nina Burger of Odessa; a son, Jerry B. Burger of Odessa; a daughter, Carla Dill of Paint Rock; a sister, Jerry Fowler of Ballinger; and four grandchildren.
Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home is In charge of arrangements.
