DALLAS - Gordon Mayer, 68, of Dallas, died Oct. 23 in a Dallas hospital.
Graveside services were held Oct. 26 in Laurel Oaks Memorial Park Cemetery in Dallas with the Rev. Clifford Gowens officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Troy Suggs Funeral Home in Dallas.
Mr. Mayer was born Oct. 24, 1920 in Wilson County to the late J.M. and Cora Walker Mayer. He was a veteran of World War II.
Surviving are his wife, Dorothy Mayer of Dallas; four sons, Huston Mayer of Arizona, David Mayer of California, Algin Mayer of Washington and Melvin Mayer of Kermit; three sisters. Daphne Fraser of Cuero, Esther Walter of New Mexico and Ruth Marcom of Houston; three brothers, Milton Mayer of California, James Mayer of Georgia , and Monroe Mayer of Cuero; three stepchildren; and seven grandchildren.
