Charles Henry Magers died peacefully in bed in his Lake Grove home. He was born July 13, 1925 on a Holton, Kan., farm. During World War II, he served on Okinawa. After the war, he moved his family to Lake Oswego, where he has resided for the past 66 years. He is survived by his son, Charles Larry Magers, wife, Judy; daughters, Ruth Anna Cross, Lark Mason, husband, Richard; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and sisters, Virginia Carr, Francis Underwood and Gladys Murphy. With his late wife, Eva, Charles became a foster parent in 1948. Through the years, over 500 children have called him "Dad." He raised several of them as his own. The families of Lee Majors, Brian Hall, Juanita Morgan, Charlene Kennedy and Patty Jakubek mourn the only father they have ever known. He also leaves behind his beloved Miss Elva and other members of his church family.
