Hammond Rites Slated Thursday Near Calhoun4597
Funeral services for T. M. (Matt) Hammond, 92-year-old retired farmer of Calhoun, will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in the New Chapel Hill Baptist Church.
Burial, under the direction of Kilpatrick's Funeral Home of West Monroe, will follow in the McCormick Cemetery near Calhoun.
Mr. Hammond died Tuesday morning following a long illness.
He is survived by his widow; two sons, Harvey T. Hammond of Calhoun, and Wesley Hammond of West Monroe; four daughters, Mrs. Ruth Richardson of West Monroe, Mrs. Clarice Steed of Calhoun, Mrs. Malvin Cruse of West Monroe, and Mrs. Oceal Strozier. West Monroe; three sisters. Mrs. R L. Templeton of West Monroe. Mrs. Mattie Jones, Huston, and Mrs May Shockley of Alabama; and a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
