Mr. Tommy Junior Armistead age 81 of Covington died Monday October 15, 2007. He was born in Morgan County Georgia on December 16, 1925 as one of fifteen children born to the late Edmond and Kathleen (Beasley) Armistead . Mr. Armistead proudly served our country in the United States Army during WWII and served in the Pacific Theater. He worked 28 years for Johnson Motor Lines as a dock worker.
He is survived by wife: Mrs. Denver Armistead of Covington; daughters: Diane Harper, Davilyn Gunnells and Kathy Armistead all of Covington; 8 brothers and sisters; 3 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren and numerous other family and close friends.
The funeral services for Mr. Armistead will be Wednesday, October 17, 2007 in the Chapel of Wheeler Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Nickolich officiating. Interment will be at Lawnwood Memorial Park.4471

Denver Armistead of Covington, GA died Friday January 1, 2010 at Newton Medical Center. She was born on October 23, 1921 in Floyd Co. Ga to Earve P. and Fannie Ivey Gwin. She was an avid reader, enjoyed watching the Atlanta Braves and spending time with her family.
Mrs. Armistead is survived by daughters Diane Harper, Davilyn Gunnells, Kathy Armistead, all of Covington, Ga; grandchildren Shelley Magruder, Amy Hanson, Stephenie Coleman; 7 great grandchildren; sisters Margaret Giles, Charlotte Dial, Jewell Armistead, and JoAnn Gwin; sister-in-law Snookie Gwin. She is preceded in death by Husband Tommy Junior Armistead , father Earve P. Gwin, mother Fannie Ivey Gwin, brothers Frank Gwin, Stewart Gwin, and Sonny Gwin.
