Lynn County Pioneer Is Buried Wednesday4158O'DONNELL, Dec. 5. (Special) — Funeral services were conductec at 3 o'clock this afternoon at the O'Donnell First Methodist church for Waldo McLaurin, 53, pioneer Lynn county resident who died Tuesday. Rev. E. H. Crandall, pastor, officiated and burial was in O'Donnell cemetery. 
McLaurin had been ill several months. Mrs. McLaurin died in May, 1944. 
McLaurin came to Lynn county in 1903 as a boy. Old-timers here recalled that his father plowed a straight furrow from his house to the old T-Bar school so that the children could follow it to school as there were no fences in the county at that time. 
McLaurin, owner of considerable Lynn county land, served as county commissioner from 1930 to 1942. 
He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. J. T. Middleton, jr.. of O'Donnell; two sons, Waldo (Tech) McLaurin, jr.. former Golden Gloves champion now in the Navy, and Charles, a student at Schreiner institute, Kerrville; one brother, Joe of O'Donnell and a sister, Mrs John Etter, also of O'Donnell. Two other sisters residing elsewhere survive him also.
