Robert Lee Compton. 27, was identified as the victim of the 7:50 p.m. accident in the unit block of SE 22. Compton, who was alone in the car, was taken lo University Hospital, where he died at 10. p.m. from massive head injuries.
Sgt. Terry Tune, traffie supervisor, said the eastbound car apparently left the road and swerved out of control before hitting a solid iron banister.
