W. D. Smith Of Osceola Dies3976 HILLSBORO, April 22 — SPL — W. D. Smith. 88, died at his home at Osceola at 5 a. m. Wednesday. 
Funeral services were held at the family residence at 3 p. m. Thursday, with Rev. J. B. Hunter officiating. Interment was in the Covington Cemetery. 
Mr. Smith was a native of Mississippi and had resided in Hill County more than 60 years. He was in business at Osceola and was engaged in farming until retiring a few years ago. 
He is survived bv two daughters, Mrs. Will Ash of Happy, and Mrs. Theresa Burger of Ballinger; seven sons, Cary, Cary. Joe and Earl, of Osceola; Roy of Dumas. Lester of Covington, Seth of Hillsboro, and Otis of Los Angeles. Calif.; two brothers, Osa Smith, Osceola, and Bruce Smith, Covington, and a half-sister. Mrs. Baine Fowler of Grandview.
