Elmer O. English Funeral Services Are Set Thursday3893Funeral services for Elmer O. English, Duncan, former Carnegie farmer and stockman, will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at the North Side Church of Christ in Duncan. Burial will be in the Carnegie cemetery at 1 p.m. Rev. Perry Catham will officiate.
Mr. English farmed and raised cattle east of Carnegie for many years and reared his family in the Carnegie community. He and his family moved from here in 1929. While in Casper, Wyoming, about a year ago he was stricken with a cerebral hemorrhage and never recovered. His death came Monday in a hospital at Norman.
He was born May 1, 1880. He was married to Allie Ridgeway, August 21, 1905, at Big Foot, Tex. They have been living in Duncan since June 1952.
Survivors include the wife, Mrs. Allie English of the home; two daughters, Mrs. Anna Mae Jones of Duncan, and Mrs. Thelma Dyer of Enid; three sons, Glen of Edmonton, Canada; McClure of Scotts Bluff, Nebr., and H.O. of Casper, Wyoming; 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild; two brothers, C.H. English of Carnegie and Dewey English of San Antonio; two sisters, Mrs. Ola Burton and Mrs. Jewel Holden, both of San Antonio; a nephew, Arthur B. English, also of San Antonio.
