Greg’s pedigree traces back to John Brewer (1775-1827) and Clayton’s pedigree traces back to Matthew Brewer (ca 1770-1832), making it likely that these two were brothers. Clayton and Greg are 5C1R. The expected amount of shared DNA for this relationship is 0-80 cM with a mean of 21 cM.

3777There is a Brewer Family Cemetery in Elberton, Elbert CO GA.
3778. It is likely that the indivuduals interred in this cemetery were close relatives of Matthew Brewer and his father. There are a number of references to a survey of the cemetery and transcription of a “Brewer bible” by a Mrs. George Grogan in 1938. This bible is said to have recited that Brewers named had been buried at the “Old Brewer Place.”
Elbert County was established on December 10, 1790 from Wilkes County. The county seat was Elberton, a town first settled in the 1780s. It was formally incorporated as a town in 1803. It’s population in 1810 was 122.
