Alvirda Pruitt Of Birdseye ts Dead At Age 881593 Mrs. Alvirda Pruitt. 88. widow of William L. Pruitt. died at 11:30 am. Monday at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Charles Whalen of near Birdseye. She had been in poor health for the past nine months.
Mrs. Pruitt was born near Birdseye on November 6, 1870. the daughter of Francis Hobbs and Margaret Kendal Hobbs.
Surviving besides the daughter are a grandchild and three great-grand children.
Her husband died on May 6, 1931, and two sons also preceded her in death.
Mrs. Pruitt was a member of the Birdseye Christian Church.
The body was taken this morning from the Schmutzler Funeral Home in Huntingburg to the Loren Bates residence in Birdseye, where friends may pay respects. Services will be held there at 2 pjn. Wednesday by Rev. William T. Kellems, and burial will be in the Mentor Cemetery.
