After his older brother, Sir John Gresham died, Sir Edward became the sole heir ofhis father's wealth, and that of Sir Thomas Gresham of London.
Sir Edward spent 4 years at Queen's College, Oxford before being admitted to the Inner temple in November of 1608. According to the dates given, Edward was 14 when he began college. He was a young man of 18, when he began his career
