MRS CHARLES MARVIN LAY the former Billie Gunn Jackson3322Miss Jackson C M Lay Wed Wednesday Wedding vows were exchanged by Miss Billie Gunn Jackson of Paris and Charles Marvin Lay of Texarkana in an informal double ring ceremony Wednesday evening at at Calvary Methodist Church The Rev Walter B Sullens pastor performed the ceremony before an altar decorated with white gladioli and greenery. Only relatives and close friends attended. The bride is the daughter of Mr and Mrs Melvin Jackson, 90812th SE, and the groom’s parents are Mr and Mrs C G Lay of Texarkana. Miss Elaine Philley, pianist, played the traditional wedding marches. The bride, who entered with her brother Gary Jackson, wore a gown of white organdy designed with a titled bodice covered button trim and a sweetheart neckline short puffed sleeves and a full skirt. She wore a white halo hat and carried a while Bible topped with an orchid tied with streamers of white ribbon and stephanotis. Her only attendant was Miss Myralo Morris of Paris, who wore a dress of blue embossed organdy designed like that of the bride. She also wore a corsage of yellow iris. Don Jones, also of Paris, was best man. After a short wedding trip the couple will be at home after June 1 on the Paris Junior College campus where both are students. Mrs Lay is a graduate of Deport High School and has been attending the past year. She was chosen freshman favorite Club favorite and is a member of Phi Kappa national honor society. A graduate of School Mr Lay is a football and track star at which he has attended the past two years.
Commerce couple is married here3323Ms. Billie J. Lay o£. Commerce, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Jackson, 908-12th SE, was married to Horace Penn, also of Commerce, on March 12 at the home of the bride's parents.
The Rev. William Penn of Kaufman, father of the bridegroom performed the ceremony. The couple was attended by Ms. Lay's daughter, Diane Lay and Mack McElroy of Longview.
Following a wedding trip to Oklahoma, the couple is at home at Rt. 1, Ladonia. Close friends and relatives attended the ceremony.
