George Mitchell Cook, 90, died Alexandria residence at 2:25 p.m. Sunday.
Funeral services will be held Hixson Bros. Funeral Home at 3 p.m. today. Interment will follow in the Philadelphia cemetery.
Survivors include three sons, Martin, Alphus and Fred, all of Alexandria; one daughter, Mrs. S. B. Whatley of Alexandria; 11 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
Cook had been a resident of Alexandria all his life. He was a pioneer in the cattle industry, having started as a youngster. Together with his son Jess, he established one of the first livestock commission markets in this area.
