Fred Beckman, Peoria, Formerly a Resident of Bloomington, Dies2938 Fred Beckman, 33, well known Peoria attorney and former Bloom ington resident, died Saturday night in a hospital at Rochester. Minn., according to word received here. Mr. Beckman had undergone an operation two weeks ago for sinus trouble and his condition was thought improved until just a few days before his death. He had another operation for an abscess on the brain Friday.
Mr. Beckman was born In Cullom, but was educated in Bloomington. He graduated from Illinois Wesleyan law school. During the World war he served as an officer at Camp Reilly in Kansas and at Houston, Tex., and at Atlanta, Ga. He married Bernadine Buelow of Eloomington. Besides his wife he leaves two children and his father, brother and sister of Bloomington.
Mr. Beckman practiced law in Peoria seven years, during which time he served as assistant state's attorney and as city attorney.

Bernadine C. Beckman2939 Mrs. Bernadine C. Beckman, 70, formerly of 408 N. Mclean, died Tuesday morning at a nursing home in Columbus, Ohio, following an illness of two years. Her funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Flinspach-Kurth Memorial Home, with the Rev. Rave Racan officiating. Burial will be in Park Hill Cemetery. Keystone Chapter 619 will conduct Eastern Star services at 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. Thursday. Mrs. Beckman was born June 14, 1890, in Bloomington, a daughter of Fred W. and Nellie A. Campbell Buelow. She was married to Fred F. Beckman. He died in March, 1930,
She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Janice Cadwell; a son, Fred F. Beckman, both of Columbus. Ohio; a sister. Mrs Esther Schwartz, Decatur, and four grandchildren.
Mrs. Beckman was a member of Wesley Methodist Church and past matron of Keystone Chapter 619, OES.
