Note by Clayton Heathcock, 12 August 2010: At this point, I do not have iron-clad evidence that the William Keel who was son of Moses Butler Keel and Ellen Stickley was the same William Keel who married Susan Bright and was the father of Moses Keel (or Kiel), born in 1865.
There is another recorded marriage for Moses Kiel, to the widow Elizabeth Diamond in Catalina, Nov. 2, 1843.
2799 Witnesses were H. Bremmer and James Cram.
An early marriage in Bonavista (15 Sept 1811) was Moses Keel to Elizabeth Abbott. These possibly could be the parents of Moses Butler Keel.
2800 There are a number of recorded baptisms in the 1820s but none are for a son named Moses.
2801
There was another, even earlier Moses Keel. In 1791 there is a record of the baptism of Thomas Keel, son of Moses & Martha Keel.
2802 Moses and Martha were also recorded as being parents of Joseph Keel (1798), Martha Keel (1808), Elizabeth Keel (recorded as Heale, 1789),
2802 Sarah Keel (1808), and Moses Keel (9 Jan 1815).
2803 In addition, there was another contemporary Moses Keel, son of Samuel and Eleanor Keel, whose baptism was recorded 23 Jan 1812.
