529Born in Bedford Co TN, moved with family to Bibb Co AL ca 1818. Purchased land in Tuscaloosa Co AL in April 1835 and was granted 39.81 acres in Bibb Co (adjacent to Bibb) on 1 October 1835. On the same day, Ranson’s father John Hathcock acquired the adjacent 40 acres in Bibb Co.
Seabourn Hathcock appears in 1840 census of Bibb Co. About 1842 Seaborn and his family moved to Tippah Co MS and they are listed in a special census of Tippah in 1845. Seabourn Hitchcock appears in 1850 census of Tippah Co MS. Also listed in Tippah Co in 1850 is Mary Haithcock, widow of Seaborn’s father, with her son Ransom, age 24.
Between 1850 and 1860, Seaborn and family moved again, to the adjacent county of Pontotoc Co MS, where they lived in the town of Wallerville and are enumerated there in the 1860 census. However, two years later, Seaborn bought land in Tippah Co and died there between 1863 and 1870. In 1870, Seaborn’s widow Eliza was enumerated in Tippah Co MS with sons Seabourn A. Hathcock, Monroe Hathcock, Benjamin Hathcock, and John Hathcock.
