Notes for Agnes Adeline (Spouse 2)
Agnes Adeline Wilson was his second wife. Monica Gray was his first, and he and she, along with his first family, lived on the farm near the Wilsons. (William Rawleigh is my huband's great-grandfather, and this story is told on an audio tape made by his parents in the early 1980's.) Anyway, Agnes was the same age or younger than some of the Hammond children, and evidently was over playing with them a lot. After Monica died, and Addie's fiance was killed in the Civil War, Addie and William Rawleigh married and started another whole family. My husband's grandfather, Robert Simon, was the one year old they had in Alabama. When Robert Simon was three, they moved to Lampasas County, TX, and had a set of twins, Nancy and George, who were born when Willian Rawleigh was 83 years old!
