Arizona Pioneer Taken By Death1587 TEMPE, June 22 – John Milton Brooks, 87 years of age. Arizona pioneer and former valley resident, died Thursday afernoon in a Nogales hospital following a lengthy illness.
Mr. Brooks came to Arizona from Texas in 1888. He resided for a time in Phoenix and in 1893 took up a homestead about nine miles south of Tempe where he lived for 25 years. For the past three years he had made his home in Patagonia. His wife, Coma Jeanne Brooks, died in 1937.
He is survived by five sons, Earl Brooks, Florasville. Tex., Leonard, Yoncalla, Ore., Ira, Patagonia. J. Preston, Chandler, and Carl Brooks, Phoenix, and 27 grandchildren.
