Joel and Sarah bought a farm on Guesses Creek in the 10th district of Sevier Co., Tn., and lived there six years. Then they moved to Mill Creek near Pigeon Forge and lived there for three years on rented land, near Sarah’s father. In 1856 they moved to the 11th district, Gatlinburg, where they remained. Sarah’s death date is unknown but Joel died July 28, 1871, at age 75.299
