Col. Dawson was colonel of the Northampton Regiment, Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of North Carolina and a member of the Governor’s Council of North Carolina. He served as a member of “His Magesty’s Council” for the province from North Carolina from 1751 to his death in 1762.1808
