William James changed his name to Clausen. Following communication is from descendant, Elizabeth Joslin-Reyes: “The mystery of why Ada's dad changed his surname still stands. My adopted mom Ida told me that he killed (accidentally or purposely?) a patient and he changed his last name to James a moved away. This was before he met Elizabeth Perry. Others in the family have said we were related to Jesse James,  which I find difficult to believe. I may never know the truth.’944
