Jeff Davis Long1581 JONESBORO, Ark. -Jeff Davis Long, 78, of Lynn, Ark., died Monday, April 15, 1985, at St. Bernard's Hospital in Jonesboro, Ark.
He was born Sept. 30, 1906, in Lynn, Ark., the son of Collakee and Francis (Woods) Long. He married Pearl Harriott on Nov. 4, 1939, in Lynn.
He was a factory worker and a member of the Church of Christ in Lynn.
He is survived by his wife; two sons, Laken Long of Kingston, Ill., and Jeff Long Jr. of Cortland; two sisters, Sally Wright of Walnut Ridge, Ark., and Bonnie Dement of Taylor, Mich.; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
A funeral service will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Church of Christ in Lynn with the Rev. Steve Norris officiating. Burial will be at Lawrence Memorial Cemetery in Walnut Ridge, Ark.
Mrs. Mabel P. Long1580 Mabel P. Long, 69, of Pine Acres Retirement Center, DeKalb, died Tuesday, March 18, 1986.
She was born in Lauritown, Ark., the daughter of Theodore and Lydia (Holstad) Herriott. She married Jeff Long in 1939 in Arkansas. She moved to DeKalb in 1948. She was a retired employee of General Electric in DeKalb and a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors include two sons, Laken Long, of Kingston and Jeff Long, of DeKalb; a brother, Clinton Herriott, in Arkansas; and six grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, two brothers and a sister.
The funeral will be Saturday in Walnut Ridge, Ark. Visitation will be Friday at the Higgenbottom Funeral Home in Walnut Ridge, Ark.
