Charles G Berry, an old time resident of this city and at one time the editor and proprietor of the Commercial died at Danville, Ills., September 30th, of paralysis. He was in his 80th year. His body was brought to Mitchell for burial and laid to rest in the family lot last Saturday. The Masonic lodge attended the funeral in a body and acted as pall bearers, Mr. Berry having been at one time a member of Mitchell lodge. Rev. Frank Hutcherson preached a short funeral sermon at the cemetery and all that was mortal of Charles G. Berry was laid to rest. There were many handsome floral tributes from friends and the somber casket was nearly hidden by the flowers. He .left two sons, Dr. Alfred Berry of Lawrenceport and Walter Berry of Danville, Ills, and a number, of daughters whose names we did not learn.
