L. E. Hawkins of Monahans Found Dead1479MONAHANS (Staff) - Loyd E. Hawkins, 63, owner of Hawkins Motor Co.. and Loyd Pontiac here, was found dead about 11 p. m.. Sunday of a heart attack on ranchland in the southwest part of Ward County.
Justice , of the Peace G. L. Griffin made the 'heart attack" ruling in the death. Hawkins had gone to tend his cattle when his pickup became mired in mud. He went to a neighboring farm where he borrowed a tractor which also became bogged down. Griffin said he apparently had been dead about three hours before a nephew round tne body.
Services will be at 3 p. m. Tuesday in the First Baptist Church here where Hawkins was a member. Officiating will be Rev. Frances Wilson, pastor. Burial will be in a Midland cemetery directed by Hammond funeral Home of Monahans.
Hawkins had lived here since 1932. He was born May 1, 1902 in Texas. Survivors include his widow, Elsie, two sons. Robert L.. Houston, and Delbert, Monahans; one brother, Wayne H., Fort Stockton; five sisters, Mrs. J. A. Andrews. Midland; Mrs. Cecil Sneed, Crane; Mrs. Harry Cople, Farmington, N.M.; Mrs. Ray Solso. Fallbrook,; Calif.: and Mrs. Dorothy Cone, Midland.
