Born in Atlanta, Georgia in January 31, 1864. He married Lucy Ann Vernon and they pioneered part of eastern Oklahoma. He was the first sheriff of Becham County, Oklahoma. They had three children; Henry Sylverster, Elta and another daughter who died at an early age. He and "Dolly" had a boarding house in Texola. They also owned land and farmed several places in and around Texola, Oklahoma and Shamrock, Texas. He died on March 3, 1950 and is buried at Shamrock, Texas.65

Born in Athens, Alabama on August 11, 1869. She married Lewis B. in the 1880s and they eventually settled in Texola, Oklahoma after being part of the last Oklahoma land rush. Their children were; Henry, Elta, and Nettie V., who died as a child. After the death of Henry's wife, they helped in the rearing of Henry's four sons, living in and around Shamrock, Texas. She died on December 12, 1952, and is buried in Shamrock.65
