Obituary for Lois Ash Adair
Lois Adair died on Monday, June 16, 2003 in Slidell, Louisiana. Lois was born on August 23, 1915 in Graham, Texas to I. Clyde Ash and Etta McAdams Ash. Lois was a resident of Bishop, Texas for many years and was a 1933 graduate of Bishop High School. Lois resided in Slidell, Louisiana for 36 years. While living in Slidell, she was a faithful member of the Church of Christ. There she is fondly remembered as "Miss Lois", a dedicated teacher of children's Bible classes. Lois was an active member of the ladies' Bible class and participated in Vacation Bible School and was involved in many service projects throughout the years. She also served for many years as a volunteer at a local nursing home where she was named Volunteer of the Year. Lois will be remembered for her love of children, her willingness to serve others and for her dedication to the Lord.
She was preceded in death by parents, a sister, Billie Marie Cantle, a brother, E. Clyde Ash, her daughter, Margaret Adair, and Elmer Adair, her husband of 55 years.
She is survived by her son, Mike Adair of Spring, Texas, as well as her two half sisters, Willeta Mansell of Kingwood, Texas, and Bettye Copeland of Hawley, Texas.
Visitation will begin Saturday June 21, 2003 at 8:30 A.M. at Turcotte-Piper Mortuary. A funeral service will be held Saturday, June 21, 2003 at 1:30 P.M. at Turcotte-Piper Mortuary in Kingsville, Texas. Burial will follow at Restland Cemetery in Bishop, Texas.
Because of her love for children, in lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to ASOCRIDE (Trujillo Christian School). Lois was a supporter of the school since its inception.
