She was preceeded in death by her husband, John Wesley Stewart in 1974, five sisters, Eva Lee, Ola Williams, Lemmie Davidson, Jimmie Gates and Beulah Hodges: two brothers, Grover Gates and Ellie Gates. She is survived by several nieces and nephews, Donald E. and Janice Lee of Houston; Jack Hodges of McAllen; William R. "Bill" Davidson of San Antonio, Lillie Kaiser of Victoria, Judy Gates of Killeen, Janet Gates of Killeen, Jane Gates Skaughthaug of Spokane, WA, Jim Bob Webb of Kerrville, Mary Lou Gilleland of Haskell, Alice Rhea Wright of Dilley, Bob Stewart of Dallas, Shirley Adams of Pearsall and Larry Stewart of Dilley.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, Oct 31, 2000 at Dilley United Methodist Church. Pastor Evelyn Glazner-Cooney officiated. Interment followed in Dilley Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Hurley Funeral Home.
