Mrs. Katie Schliesing 986Funeral services for Mrs. P. A. Schliesing, 82, were held on Thursday. July 16, at 10 a.m. in the Homer McClaugherty Funeral Chapel in San Antonio and at 10:30 a. m., in St. Margaret Mary’s Catholic Church.
The Rev. Myron Swize officiated in the rites. Burial was in the San Fernando Arc'hdiocesan Cemetery in San Antonio.
Mrs. Schliesing died Monday, July 13, at 9 p. m., in Santa Rosa Hospital.
She was the former Katherine Molberg and was born in Duesseldorf-Holthausen, Germany, on August 1, 1882, the daughter of Caspar and Anna Schoellgen Molberg.
She came to Texas with her family in 1898 and was married to P. A. Schliesing on Oct. 12, 1904, in St. Mary’s Church, Fredericksburg.
Her husband, a building contractor. preceded her in death on May 30. 1948. She had lived in San Antonio 57 years.
Surviving children, are: Celia, Mrs. R. A. Fuqua, Hamilton; Agnes, Mrs. Charles Lay, Dallas: Mary, Mrs. Frank Gruen, San Antonio; Joseph G. Schliesing, Paul C. Schliesing and George H. Schliesing, all of San Antonio.
Also surviving are nine grandchildren, 8 great - grandchildren, and the following brothers: Joe, Henry and Hubert Molberg, Fredericksburg; Charles Molberg, San Antonio: and Frank Molberg, Memphis, Tennessee. She was preceded in death by two sons: Carl and Herbert Schliesing: two sister, Clara, Solano, Helen Molberg and a brother. Paul Molberg.
Pallbearers at her rites were: Lawrence Lay. Patrick Lay, Frank Gruen, Herbert Gruen, John Schliesing and L. J. Gittinger
Paul Schliesing Rites Held In San Antonio 985Last rites were held in Zizik-Kearns Funeral Home at San Antonio Monday morning at 8:30 a. m., and in St. Gerards Catholic Church at 8:45 p. m. for Paul A. Schliesing, retired contractor, of San Antonio.
Schliesing, who had been in failing health for several years succumbed on Saturday, May 29, 1948 at 7:45 a.m. He had attained the age of 66 years and 11 months at the time of his death.
The Rev. Fr. B. J. Krieger officiated in the final rites.
Interment was made in San Fernando Cemetery at San Antonio.
Schliesing was born on June 29, 1881, at Sayers, Texas, the son of Carl and Johanna Schaefer Schliesing.
On October 12, 1904 he was united in marriage with Miss Katie Molberg at Frederickburg.
Survivors include Mrs. Schliesing, the following chidren: Cecilie, Mrs. R. A. Fuqua of San Angelo, Texas; Joe G. Schliesing, Agnes, Mrs. Charles Lay; Mary, Mrs. Frank Gruen; Paul C. and George H. Schliesing all of San Antonio. 9 grandchildren, brothers, Charles and Herman Schliesing; sisters, Mrs. Johanna Bredow, Mrs. Louise Faber, Mrs. A. A. Dannenoerg and Mrs Henry McClain.
He was preceded in death by two sons, Carl and Herbert Schliesing and four brothers. John, Albert, Pete and Rudolf Schliesing.
Among those from here attending the last rites in Antonio on Monday were Mr. and Mrs. Hubert Molberg, Mrs. Joe G. Kaiser, Mrs. Marvin Kaderli, Mr. and Joe Molberg, Misses Rose and Franees Molberg.
