The Rev. Dr. Mark W. Randle The Rev. Dr. Mark W. Randle, 85, passed away May 31, 2010 in Fort Worth, Texas. A memorial service will begin at 11:00 a.m. Thursday at University Christian Church. He will be buried at 12:00 noon Friday at City Cemetery in Taylor, Texas. Dr. Randle was born at home in Lockhart, Texas, on October 1, 1924 to Mark Withers and Annie Laura Copeland Randle. He was a lifelong member of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) growing up in the Christian Church of Lockhart. During World War II he enlisted in the United States Navy at age 17 and was stationed in Guam, Pearl Harbor, and San Diego, CA. Following his naval service he enrolled in Texas Christian University receiving his B.A. degree in 1950 and a B.D. degree from Brite Divinity School in 1952. In 1963, he received a Doctor of Divinity degree from Brite. At that time he was the youngest recipient ever to receive an honorary degree from Brite Divinity School. While attending Christian Endeavor Camp in 1939, Mark met Dorothy Lucille Campbell. They married in Taylor, Texas on August 30, 1947. Mark and Dorothy served churches in Texas, Missouri, and Arizona. In the 1960s, while serving National Avenue Christian Church in Springfield, MO, he was chosen to serve on the Commission on Brotherhood Finance of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). After concluding his active ministry at the Sun City Arizona Christian Church, he served seven interim ministries in Texas, Oklahoma, Missouri and Florida. An avid golfer and world traveler, Mark would arrange group trips to the Holy Land, Scotland, and Australia. Preceding Mark in his death was his wife, Dorothy, on February 7, 2007. Survivors include his daughter, Sarah Yonker and her husband, John of Columbia, MO; son, Kirk Randle and his wife, Susan, of Fort Worth; grandchildren, Natalie Randle of Austin, Graham Mark Randle and Kyle Randle of Crowley; David Yonker and his wife, Elizabeth, of Sterling, IL, and Thomas Randle Yonker of Washington D.C.; great-grandsons, Cade and Logan Randle of Crowley, and Samuel Yonker of Sterling, IL; and brother, James G. Randle and his wife, Billie, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; several nieces and nephews; and many friends. FORT WORTH - Dorothy Lucille Campbell Randle, 84, whose wit, love and humor sparkled, died Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2007, at home in Fort Worth, Texas. Memorial service: 11 a.m. Saturday at University Christian Church in Fort Worth, Texas. Interment: 1 p.m. today, Feb. 10, 2007, in City Cemetery in Taylor, Texas. Memorials: Contributions may be made in her memory to Brite Divinity School Capital Campaign, Texas Christian University, Box 298130, Fort Worth, Texas 76129. Mrs. Randle was born Oct. 23, 1922, in Taylor to Louis B. Campbell and Frances Elizabeth Harris Campbell. She met her husband, Mark W. Randle, while attending Christian Endeavor in 1939. They married Aug. 30, 1947, following his discharge from the U.S. Navy. She graduated with a B.S. degree from Southwest Texas State Teachers College in San Marcos, Texas, in 1944. She worked as a secretary with Humble Oil Co. in Houston, and while her husband attended TCU and Brite Divinity School, she worked for Rowan Oil Co. in Fort Worth, Texas. In later years, she was an administrative secretary for Sunmark Exploration. She was a member of the P.E.O. Sisterhood, Chapter G, Fort Worth, Texas. Dorothy and Mark served churches in Texas, Missouri and Arizona. From 1958 to 1969 they served National Avenue Christian Church. In retirement they served interim ministries in Florida and Oklahoma. Survivors include: her husband, Mark, of Fort Worth, Texas; daughter, Sarah Yonker and her husband, John, of Columbia, Mo.; son, Kirk Randle and his wife, Susan, of Fort Worth, Texas; grandchildren, Natalie Randle of Dallas, Texas, Graham Randle and his wife, Crystal, of Crowley, Texas, Kyle Randle, of Fort Worth, Texas, David Yonker and his wife, Elizabeth, of Sterling, Ill., and Thomas Yonker of Columbia, Mo.
