CATHERINE GOODBREAD,57 daughter of John Goodbread, possibly by a first wife, name unknown, would have been born before 1779. She was already married to a Morris by 1807 when her father wrote his will, leaving 50 acres of land on Cove Creek in Burke Co., and two slaves to Catherine Warton Morris. One reason for the theory of Catherine being by a first wife is the fact that Mary Goodbread made deeds to both of her sons, John Jr. and Phillip Goodbread, and deeded a slave to daughter Sarah Ledbetter, but there is no mention of Catherine in any of the records on Mary Goodbread.
