July 27, 2008
Wonderful happy joyous news! The little ones arrived Saturday July 26, 2008 -- 5 boys and 3 girls. They have been named after the towns here in the Bitterroot Valley, north to south, in order of their entrance into the world.
Lolo (female) born 9:45 am
Florence (female) born 11:05 am
Stevi (male) born 11:20 am
Victor (male) born 12:10 pm
Hamilton (male) born 2:45 pm
Darby (male) born 4:05 pm
Sula (female) born 4:15 pm
Connor (male) born 7:00 pm
The puppies range in birth weight from 9.25 oz. to 14.00 oz. and are vigorous and thriving, even the little runt Connor who I am bottle feeding every two hours so he will catch up in size to his siblings. Bonnie clicked into motherhood almost immediately and is tending to her babies very well.
BIG BIG Smiles,

Summary
Lolo (female) born 9:45 am -- 9.85 oz. (3 crowns, rear dew claws)
Florence (female) born 11:05 am -- 13.2 oz. (might have a shortish ridge...not sure yet)
Stevi (male) born 11:20 am -- 10.1 oz. (1 rear dew claw, one double rear dew claw)
Victor (male) born 12:10 pm -- 13.2 oz.
Hamilton (male) born 2:45 pm -- 12.75 (rear dew claws)
Darby (male) born 4:05 pm -- 14 oz.
Sula (female) born 4:15 pm -- 13.5 oz.
Connor (male) born 7:00 pm -- 9.25 (1 crown, rear dew claws, tail kink)
So all in all...
1 male and 1 female with incorrect ridges (female 3 crowns, male 1 crown)
6 show ridges (2 female and 4 male)
1 kink (base of tail of male with 1 crown)
4 sets of rear dew claws (1 female, 3 males) one of the males has double dew claws on left rear
So as you can see, Connor the runt is *superb* pet quality: only 1 crown, kink in tail and a funny little mohawk thing on the top of his head...and of course this little man has absolutely stolen my heart. What spirit! He is such a trooper and wants to survive and I will NOT let him down, even if I have to feed him every 2 hours, day and night, I'm going to give him all I've got until he lets me know he's not going to make it. It's worth the effort because I know his new family will fall in love with him just like I have. But he's eating like mad (from the bottle) so he'll gain weight soon. He gets so excited when he nurses from the bottle, squealing and kicking, and feels really strong despite his small size. And, of course, he has so much of my attention he'll be spoiled rotten long before he gets to his new family.
