The sire of the litter is BIS BISS Am/Au Ch Camelot's Code Red (Mojave), currently one of America's top-ranked Rhodesian Ridgeback show dogs. The dam is Ch Camelot's Mistress of the Hunt (Artemis). It is Artie's 3rd litter.

Artie went into labor on Monday night and was restless all night. She began to have contractions about 6 am and delivered a 19-ounce male puppy at 7:45 am. This puppy was injured in delivery and subsequently died.

Artie's labor stalled and the remainder of the litter was delivered by C-section at 1:45 pm. The final count is two males and three females. Both of the males are pet quality because of ridge faults (two single-crowns and one offset crowns). All three of the females have show ridges but one has an overbite and will not be a show dog.

The puppies have been named in honor of the space shuttle astronauts who returned from a mission on the day the puppies were born: Eileen, Wendy, Steve and Andy. Since there were only two female astronauts, the third girl was named Helen, in honor of Artie's owner, Helen Stavropoulos Sandoval.

These puppies have all been placed. Camelot plans another litter in the Spring of 2006.
